John was raised in Colts Neck, New Jersey, where he graduated in 1984 from Christian Brothers Academy High School. He was recruited to play soccer at the University of Maryland and has been in Maryland since. While at the University of Maryland, John studies economics and sociology but always had an interest in insurance as his Dad had a very successful insurance career culminating with the development of his own insurance benefits brokerage, KFR Consultants Inc. In John's senior year he was approached by a recruiter for Nationwide Insurance in Annapolis MD and decided this would be the right company to launch his insurance career.
John began his career with Nationwide as a Commercial Underwriter. He was quickly promoted to Special Agent, a program designed to identify and train potential management leaders. In 1992, at the age of 25 John became the youngest Agency Manager in the history of the company. In 1996 he was again promoted to a significantly larger sales district of Montgomery County. During his time in sales management John completed both the LUTCF and the CLU certification, and achieved sales management awards and recognition but what he is most proud of is the number of successful Nationwide Agent's he hired and trained through those years, several of whom are among the most successful agencies in the company.
In 1999 John made the switch from Sales Management to Agency by buying an existing small agency in Bethesda MD and in 2001 he joined forces with Frank Goldbach to form R&G Insurance Associates. Together John and Frank led the R&G team to becoming of one of Nationwide's most successful agencies, with eight locations and thirty five Associates.
John lives in Rockville, Maryland with his three children, Johnny, Kenny and Jessie. He enjoys being with his kids, playing tennis and golf, boating, and working out.
